1. 本擴充功能的用途
Safari Favorites New Tab 是獨立製作的 Chrome 新分頁擴充功能。它將使用者選取的 Chrome 書籤資料夾顯示為 Safari 風格的網站圖示方格，並提供搜尋、智慧簡稱、圖示與桌布客製化。本擴充功能不是 Apple 或 Google 官方產品。
2. 在本機使用的資料
• 書籤：讀取所選 Chrome 書籤的名稱、網址與資料夾結構，以顯示捷徑、搜尋及產生簡稱；不會更動、刪除或重新命名原始 Chrome 書籤。
• 設定及自訂名稱：儲存在 chrome.storage.local。
• 自訂桌布、圖示及圖示快取：儲存於擴充功能本機 IndexedDB。
• 備份檔：使用者主動匯出時，會在裝置上產生包含設定、自訂圖片與名稱（可能包含相關書籤網址）的檔案。使用者自行決定儲存或分享位置，請避免公開上傳個人備份檔。
3. 網路連線與第三方服務
預設圖示模式採用 Chrome 的 favicon 介面，不由開發者經營伺服器收集書籤。如果使用者選擇智慧／高清圖示來源，瀏覽器可能向 www.google.com 的 favicon 服務或相關網站請求圖片。使用者明確啟用進階圖示修復並授權網站存取後，擴充功能可能讀取指定網站首頁及其圖示中繼資料，以尋找更合適的圖示。這些連線可能使第三方網站或 Google 知悉所請求的網站網域、使用者 IP 位址、瀏覽器連線資訊；各服務會依其自己的政策處理連線紀錄。本擴充功能不會將完整書籤清單提交給開發者管理的遠端伺服器。使用者可以保持本機圖示模式，避免上述額外圖片查詢。
4. 不存取的資料
本擴充功能不要求密碼、信用卡、Chrome 瀏覽紀錄或其他分頁網頁內容的讀取權限，也沒有廣告、追蹤像素、分析 SDK、背景常駐服務或跨網站內容腳本。
5. 權限
bookmarks：讀取書籤以顯示與搜尋。storage：儲存設定及自訂名稱。favicon：讀取 Chrome 可提供的網站圖示。可選的 HTTP/HTTPS 網站存取：只在使用者主動選擇進階圖示修復並同意時請求，供讀取圖示相關資料。使用者可透過 Chrome 的擴充功能設定管理或撤銷權限。
6. 資料保留、移除及安全
所有本機資料保存在使用者的瀏覽器設定檔，直到使用者在介面中移除、清除擴充功能資料或解除安裝。匯出的備份檔由使用者自行管理。不同 Chrome 設定檔之間不會自動遷移本機圖片與設定。擴充功能不提供開發者端的個人帳戶或雲端備份服務。
7. 聯絡與政策異動
開發者的聯絡方式以 Chrome 線上應用程式商店的發行者資訊為準。若有公開原始碼儲存庫，也可經該專案的 Issues 功能提出問題。若未來資料處理方式變更，本政策會同步更新。

1. Purpose
Safari Favorites New Tab is an independently developed Chrome extension that replaces the new-tab page with a Safari-inspired grid of bookmarks. It provides local search, title shortening, custom icons and wallpapers. It is not affiliated with Apple or Google.
2. Local data use
• Bookmarks: Chrome bookmark titles, URLs and folder structure are read to display, search and shorten favorites. Original Chrome bookmarks are not changed or deleted.
• Preferences and manually edited labels: saved in chrome.storage.local.
• Wallpapers, icons and icon cache: stored in the extension's local IndexedDB.
• Backups: on explicit request, the extension exports a local file with settings, custom images, aliases, and potentially corresponding bookmark URLs. Users control where exported backups are saved or shared; do not post personal backups publicly.
3. Network requests and third parties
The default icon mode uses Chrome's favicon API. The developer does not operate a server that collects bookmark lists. If the user selects Smart/HD icon sources, the browser may request icon images from Google's favicon service at www.google.com or the relevant bookmarked websites. Optional advanced icon recovery requires user action and Chrome host permission consent; it may fetch a selected site's homepage and icon metadata. Those network requests may expose the requested domains, the user's IP address and ordinary connection metadata to Google or the destination websites, which handle logs under their own policies. The extension does not send complete bookmark lists to a developer-operated server. Users can keep the local icon mode to avoid these optional external icon lookups.
4. Information not accessed
The extension does not request access to passwords, credit cards, browser history, or content in other tabs. It includes no ads, tracking pixels, analytics SDK, background service worker, or page-injection scripts.
5. Permissions
bookmarks: read bookmarks for display and search. storage: store preferences and aliases locally. favicon: retrieve cached site icons via Chrome. Optional HTTP/HTTPS host permissions: requested only when the user explicitly initiates advanced icon recovery and consents, to retrieve relevant site icon information. Permissions can be managed in Chrome.
6. Retention and control
Local data remains in the browser profile until the user clears it, resets the extension, or uninstalls it. Exported backups are controlled by the user. Local images/settings do not automatically migrate between Chrome profiles; no developer-managed cloud backups or user accounts are provided.
7. Contact and changes
Refer to the publisher contact details in the Chrome Web Store listing. If a public source repository is available, its Issues page may be used for support. The policy will be updated if data practices change.
